Ferraby Top 10 of 2010

10.  Ferraby’s finally joined the 21^st century! We pooled some gift money and some income from Shannon’s businesses and now have a flat screen in the living room! Yes, I am sure I have in the past said that I would NEVER do that….and, would you believe there is an x-box 360 attached to it?! I actually won it from Burger King! People really win those contests! (No...Shannon still does not carry a cell phone-let's not get carried away!)

9.  Finding Burt’s Bees Champagne Lip Shimmer on clearance and buying the whole case! I love that stuff!

8.  Mommy, Teagan and Reilly started taking Mommy and Daughter clogging classes! Don’t laugh! The teacher says, “Mommy is a natural!” Ha!

7.  Found Lilla Rose at a homeschool convention. Yes, I was supposed to be attending sessions-can’t stay away from those exhibit halls! Love the clips-wear them every day and the business is taking off with minimal effort! Also, encouraged by friends to start It’s a Blessing and who knows-it may become the financial means for Marc to get back to AIS.

6.  Found a local, Christian homeschool co-op and attended this fall. Making some new friends and enjoying that!

5.  Liam started ½ days at a local Christian middle/high school. Loving it and doing well!

4.  Liam’s crippled chicken is so far surviving Ohio winter! Up to 5 eggs a day! Don’t know why this is so exciting in our family-but it is! Each day we all cheer when he comes in and tells us how many eggs he’s collected!

3.  Mommy turned 40 and received a beautiful spinning wheel from loving Marc who spoils me rotten! Mommy is determined to pretend she lives on Little House on the Prairie (minus the outhouse!)

2. Started fostering children for respite weekends and in December welcomed Jack and Jason to our family!

1.  The top of the top is our visits from family and friends! This year we were blessed with visits from my parents and gram (who is 88 and still can make the trip out here!), Marc’s parents who took us all to a fun water park and it was a highlight of the year to see Mum zooming down the giant funnel and screaming her head off! Really-she loved it!!!, The GOT and Care team from Joy-we love and miss everyone there so much! The Fransisco family-great times-great friends! And a surprise visit from the Friesans! What a blessing to be encouraged and have time with those we love!!!

THE BIG 40!!!

Today is the day I turn 40 years old!!!!

For 40 years the Lord has prepared a way for me...

For 40 years the Lord has never left me nor forsaken me...

For 40 years the Lord has never slept while I have rested...

For 40 years the Lord has kept all of his promises...

For 40 years the Lord has wiped away my tears and comforted me when I am hurting...

For 40 years the Lord has blessed me over, and over and over again.....

For 40 years the Lord has forgiven me of my sins...

For 40 years....

"I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;

he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.

He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord."

It is a BIG 40!  Big and Full of blessings, praises,

reasons to be thankful and reasons to celebrate!

What Better Gift...

What better gift could you give than the gift of your prayers?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Be joyful always; Pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 

Here is one example where we never have to wonder what God's will is for our lives!

We are called to pray!

You might find some great deals over the next few days before Christmas-you might buy some gifts your children will enjoy, but none of them will benefit them as much as the time you could spend on your knees lifting them before our heavenly father-the giver of all good things!!!

Have a blessed day friends-and I will be praying for you and me to listen to the still small voice of the Holy Spirt to slow down and

pray for our children!!

7 chickens laying!   

(Liam's chickens just started laying eggs-very exciting!)

6  kids homeschooling                 

5 cups of caffeine!!!!!

(just kidding...I'm not that bad-yet!)   

   

4 rowdy sons

3 precious daughters

2 corn snakes  

                                  

(not kidding-we have 2 snakes!)

and a husband named Marc Ferraby!

(Those who know me well, will notice I did not add our DOG!!! to this list! :) )

In the hustle and bustle of Christmas and shopping for gifts-let's remember that everything we have is a blessing from the Lord-let us remember others who have so little in comparison, and let us be thankful

and remember that if we never give or receive another gift in our lifetime, we have already received the greatest gift-through Jesus Christ!

May I encourage you to slow down today...for just a few minutes...praise the Lord, and count your blessings! I bet you can come up with at least 12 of them!!!!!!

It's A Blessing!

It is almost funny that I am starting a blog site. I do not even have a cell phone, barely answer the house phone I have, and truly enjoy the old fashioned kind of contacts...face to face and letter writing!

However, trying to keep up with our household of 7 children and starting and running a family business, I realize I need some way to contact with the outside world!
